Eligibility Criteria for Intermediate (10+2) to IAF

Eligibility: Intermediate (10+2)

Candidates (only Men) with 10+2 qualification, have opportunity to join only the 'Flying branch' of the Air force.

The candidates short-listed after the initial selection procedure, go through a rigorous three-year training regimen at the National Defence Academy (NDA), followed by specialised training at the Air Force Academy ( Flying training establishment). Thereafter, they are commissioned as Officers and posted as pilots at any of the Air Force Stations.

To enter National Defence Academy (NDA)
One has to take an entry level exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to join NDA. This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India. Apart from the UPSC written Exam, the candidates have to go through a Pilot Aptitude Battery Test, an Intelligence, obstacles and Group Test by Services Selection Board, a Medical Exam etc to join the NDA. Entrance to the NDA is solely based on merit.

Basic requirements to join the NDA:

Age - 16 ½ to 19 years

Nationality - Indian

Gender - This is applicable only to men.

Educational Qualifications
You should have passed your 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics. You can, however send us your application during your 10+2; provided you meet the eligibility criteria at the time of joining the Academy.
